"If you're leaving harsh and hurtful comments on anyone's posts to defend me, just know that I don't support it. I've never endorsed acts of hatred," wrote Hailey.
She further emphasized, "Doing so is not in any way a form of support for me. If you engage in such behavior, you're contributing to a culture I don't want any part of. Please speak kindly or refrain from commenting altogether."
Hailey's post comes in response to a wave of negative comments on Selena Gomez's Instagram. Many still accuse the actress and singer of being jealous of Hailey's relationship with her husband, Justin Bieber, who is Selena's former boyfriend.
"Stop playing the victim; it's truly disgusting. You're 30 years old, act your age!" wrote one netizen.
Another commented, "You're so embarrassing for dramatizing everything for attention. Pathetic."
In a show of solidarity, Hailey Bieber's call for more positive and respectful communication is a reminder of the importance of kindness on social media.
